made some nice and weird friends at work. Eunice and Willyn :) work will be hell boring without them i swear. admin job is alrdy boring enough i cant imagine my life without them seriously. usual catch up sessions w girls is always mad love, as usual. :) im really glad that even thou we are kinda like.. moving to the next phrase of life now, we still meet up and all <3

i just came back from Beijing/Hongkong like yesterday night.
its kinda different this time round.

this time round the trip is really super relax and everything.
we even spent one whole day @ a Hongkong Cafe nearby our Hotel playing chinese version monopoly.

imagine its snowing outside and youre eating Shabu Shabu indoors.
that kinda feeling is even better than those kua zhang expressions that you see on zhong yi da ge da when artiste eat those claimed to be very super duper damn nice food. -.-
what makes the trip better this time would be the snow i guess.
first time experiencing snow and it was gd!
but i think it really makes one emo because its cold and all.
if youre alone, youll tend to think quite alot.

okay. this might be a little late but, since im waiting for time to pass now, i shall review my 2009 resolution and see if i fulfilled any!

Adopted from 2009 new year resolution:

~~continue to jog weekly and lead a healthy lifestyle! (oh, that includes eating veg, i'll try my best)~~ i think i semi fufilled this. because im starting to eat veg now and i manage to resume jogging after im back from Beijing!
~~work really hard during intern and make sure i learn something out of it. getting intern with merit will be really good. HAHA.~~ okay, i think i did for this. even thou i didnt get commendation, but i did learn alot. like seriously. OSIP rocks my socks.
~~increase gpa for 2.2. (which i think shouldnt be a problem, because, so far, so good.)~~ it did increase quite abit, even thou its not enough. but yeah. it did went up afterall.
~~save at least 1k this year, for rainy days yo.~~ hey. im proud about this. it came true. HAHA. infact its more than that. but its for Beijing trip in March alrdy. HAHA
stop skipping lectures, i mean those important ones. (like accts, and maybe MICE) im not very sure for this one because i cant remember. but the result suck big time.

The feeling of passing up assignment before the actual submission date rocks.
Even though i still kinda think that for certain question my approach is wrong,
but well, at least im pretty happy that i get any one's help this time round.

just like majority of the souls in my course,
i think Cruise test was pretty difficult.
as much as i studied and remembered everything,
i still tio stunned when i see the first question.
and took quite sometime to figure out the correct answer.

its because its really difficult or its because its been closing to eight months since the last time i really sat down for exams and tests?
the feeling really suck you know.
i swear that day when i was walking into the hall,
even though the test is less than twenty percent,
i still feel a little panicky somewhat.
hmm..

starting from next week onwards,
on average there will be either two tests or one test and one submission per week.
like what i told Grace,
i think you kill me faster.

i know whining's not gonna help.
but if youre in my situation,

Falling metal pipe kills worker at Sentosa IR

It is second industrial death at Resorts World site in a month.

A 300KG metal pipe came crashing down on the head of a foreign worker at the Resorts World worksite at Sentosa, killing him instantly.

It is believed that Mr Annamalai Chandramani was taking a break from work on Saturday evening when the pipe, which was being moved above him, fell right onto him.

Mr Annamalai, 33, suffered multiple fractures to his neck and was pinned under the heavy pipe.

A 30-year-old worker who was at the scene told The Straits Times that there was a lot of blood.

It was the second industrial death at the Resorts World site in Sentosa in a month since work began there about two years ago.

Just last month, another foreign worker, a China national in his late 40s, died from head injuries sustained when he fell from a height of about 4.5m.

Two months ago, Lian Beng Construction was fined $100,000 for a safety lapse at the other integrated resort (IR), Marina Bay Sands, which led to the death of a worker in January last year.

The 39-year-old China national died after a brick wall collapsed on him.

The latest IR death comes amid a drive by the Government to shore up safety at worksites. In 2007 and last year, 130 workers died on-site, with more than half of them from the construction and marine industries.

About 20 of Mr Annamalai's friends and colleagues were at the mortuary yesterday as their manager identified his body. They all described him as a very nice and good person.

Mr Annamalai had come to work in Singapore six years ago from Pondicherry in India. He is married with two young children, aged four and seven.

Resorts World said the accident would not delay the completion of the integrated resort as no stop-work order had been issued so far.

The management is also working with the contractor, Siong Yu Seng Construction, and the Manpower Ministry in the investigations.

A spokesman added that they were 'deeply saddened' by the incident and were helping Mr Annamalai's family with the funeral arrangements.

His body will be flown back to his hometown.

Aside from the safety inspectors hired by the contractors, Resorts World also has an independent safety officer on-site who enforces safety measures on a daily basis, such as ensuring that workers always don their personal protection equipment and wear safety harnesses when working from height.

Mr Annamalai was supposed to have attended a special National Day dinner prepared by the Resorts World management and the contractors back at the dormitory that same evening.

I think its time to be focused and stop wavering.
To be firm and think of what i want in future.

After studying for two and half years,
i realise that thats not what i want.
Service is not something that i see myself doing in future.
But i wont say i regret the 2yrs,
because afterall i did learn some skills and of course,
the precious opportunity i got for going Beijing,
to see the outside world.

After much thinking,
i realise i dont hate service,
but maybe not so interested.
But if i gotta do it someday,
ill still do it.

And now,
I've finally decided that,
working straight after Poly is definitely not what i want.
Pursuing a degree in another field is definitely a better choice.
I regret not choosing mass comm at NP few years back.
Because the reason was pretty retarded.
It was distance.

My COP was better than what was required and i scored both B3 for my languages.
I wont say that i will definitely get in,
but i think the chances of getting in isnt too low?
Now that i learnt my lesson,
i decided to actually believe in myself and be determined.

I realise the importance of keeping the faith and persevere and
not to care about what others think about me.
Why ponder about those that doesnt care and neglect those that cares?
Why care so much?
If im a bad person,
others would badmouth me.
If im a nice person,
there must be some losers that will badmouth me too.
So, what's the point of getting so bothered by others?

I live for myself,
not for some losers.
Should just look on the positive side and stop thinking about negative things.

i think i should get a life, seriously. sometimes, it really hits me hard when i see people achieving lots of things in life when they're somewhere around my age. but again, they are also people bumming around with no aim in life. was down for f1 training few days back and had this mini ice breaking session. wasnt anything major to some but somehow, triggered me to think of some important stuffs? during the introduction, we're suppose to talk about our passion or what we like to do. i said something which appears funny to many. but, i really mean it when i say it. okay, perhaps thats not the point. the point is, passion. i seriously dont have a passion. im not even saying something that i can venture in future, im just saying something productive that i enjoy doing. i dont even know what i enjoy. and no, im not emo-ing now. i fucking hate people who say im emo. damn you seriously. dont know what im going thru so fucking keep your comments to yourself. if you understand me well enough, you wont think that im emo-ing and start giving those shit ass comments. who doesnt like to be happy and smile all the time? im not a psycho that doesnt like to smile and treat people coldly. but, i just dont like to force a smile when i dont feel like smiling. what's the purpose seriously. to pretend that im feeling happy when im not? what rubbish. and i dont like it when what i used to have is taken away. i wouldnt say it feels wierd without it, but i feel empty. if i know that i would feel this way. right from the start, i wouldnt want it to even take place.

- continue to jog weekly and lead a healthy lifestyle! (oh, that includes eating veg, i'll try my best)
- work really hard during intern and make sure i learn something out of it. getting intern with merit will be really good. HAHA.
- increase gpa for 2.2. (which i think shouldnt be a problem, because, so far, so good.)
- save at least 1k this year, for rainy days yo.
- stop skipping lectures, i mean those important ones. (like accts, and maybe MICE)

sometimes, just sometimes, i think life is more than that. it might not be as simple as you think but it might not be as complicated either. its just the way you view it i guess? as i said.. life's pretty good now. so.. im pretty positive about it i should say. even ssm is becoming more interesting. even having my pinkie hurts is interesting to me. LOL. so yes, its back to the mindset thingy again yes. (: i dont know if its because xavier and kang kinda talk some sense into me or what. maybe xavier and not kang. kang is more supportive on other factors like hmm.. food, or me buying some bigbang merchandise. and.. school kinda reopened. kinda reopened because there's still no tutorial just yet. but its good that my class is filled with people i know! yolande, jessica, sikai, rayna, derek, etc. haha. and.. i kinda enjoy ssm somewhat. i mean.. i dont think its like very very torturous kind and its kinda interesting i thought. although im not as crazy over daniel chia like someone, but i still like mr goh's humourous character. i think he's really funny sometimes. and you cant imagine how happy i was when miss mark said that i just need to groom myself properly and i need not cut my hair! haha. because i think my hair is kinda like a longer version of kim hee chul sshi now. :D anyway.. french is seriously not my kind of thing, i swear. i changed it to world issues even though i know french is seriously hot hot hot. but still.. i changed it. the main reason was really the time table. i was late during the first tut and i cant imagine it if im late EVERY WEEK. it wont be a good thing yo. service teaches us that punctuality is very important! :D haha. and... world issues is not too bad. its kinda interesting. really. maybe because half the class is filled with people i know. haha. :D

SINGAPORE: Former head of Ren Ci Hospital, the Venerable Shi Ming Yi has been charged with alleged forgery, conspiracy and misuse of funds.

Venerable Ming Yi, who was also the former Ren Ci chairman, was slapped with 10 charges on Tuesday morning.

The monk faces four charges under the Penal Code involving two counts of alleged criminal breach of trust. He also faces one count of alleged forgery for the purpose of cheating and one count of abetment for allegedly falsifying accounts.

He also faces six charges under the Charities Act for allegedly providing false information.

Two of his associates, Raymond Yeung and Phua Seow Hua, were also alleged to have gone into conspiracy with the Venerable and were also charged in court on Tuesday.

Separately, a volunteer from Ren Ci was charged with allegedly possessing some 70 copies of obscene film.

Venerable Ming Yi, also known as Goh Kah Heng, is out on a S$200,000 bail. His case will be heard in court on August 4.

Venerable Ming Yi has been on leave for five months before his arrest on Monday night. He had been under probe by the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD).

The CAD was called in after auditors engaged by the Ministry of Health (MOH) highlighted possible irregularities in some of the charity’s financial transactions.

The MOH had said that several transactions, which involved several million dollars, could not be satisfactorily explained.

Ren Ci and 11 other large Institutions of a Public Character were subject to the Health Ministry’s general review in July 2006.

Ren Ci is believed to be the third largest health charity in Singapore after the National Kidney Foundation and the SingHealth Endowment Fund.

The Commissioner of Charities has suspended Venerable Ming Yi from his office as Chief Executive Officer of Ren Ci Hospital & Medicare Centre with immediate effect.

He will also be suspended from his executive positions in five other charities: Foo Hai Ch’an Monastery, Foo Hai Ch’an Buddhist Cultural and Welfare Association, Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic, The Singapore Regional Centre of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, and the Katho Temple.

However, he remains the religious leader of the Foo Hai Ch’an Monastery.
